Days 3 and 4 we spent in the north west coastal and national forest park area of California. We traveled from west to east, then a short bit south from one side of the state towards the Nevada state line. We were driving through THE AVE OF GIANTS, these are 80 to 100 feet tall redwood trees with a circumferance of 18 feet and upwards, and are over 1500 years old. Then we climbed up into the mountains of Mt Shasta. Then on days 5 and 6 we went over into the Lassen Volcanic National Park were we found ourselves over 8000 ft above sea level and in the presence of Sulphur Gas Pits, what a smell.
